Description
Our digital platform is a turnkey solution enabling companies to create Product Circularity Data Sheets (PCDS), in accordance with the framework defined in ISO 59040. The standardization of data entered according to a predefined format with unique identifiers is one of the main benefits of this standard, de facto creating a universal language for product circularity within value chains. These PCDS data can be shared in PDF and digital (JSON) formats.
The required data follows the principle of the product lifecycle, from design (e.g., use of recycled content), production (e.g., use of renewable energies in the production cycle), circular aspects of the product's life (e.g., was it designed to be repaired, what skill level is required to repair it, are spare parts available, was it designed to be disassembled, dismantled, taken apart) to the product's end-of-life (e.g., can it be composted or recycled).
Data is provided by answering "True" or "False" to statements. When precise numerical data is requested, it is in the form of intervals, defined in the standard, which both facilitates form completion and allows for sufficient vagueness to preserve the confidentiality of certain information. There is also the possibility to add documents in the form of links to evidence or complementary documents.
These PCDS can have numerous uses such as:
• Eco-design: The PCDS allows for generating a complete assessment of a product's circularity, thereby enabling improvements in its eco-design.
• Use in tenders: A buyer can ask their suppliers to provide complete or partial PCDS – in accordance with a neutral ISO standard – depending on the required circular properties, in order to obtain information on purchased products or to demand specific circular properties.
• Establishment of standardized product sheets that can serve as robust foundations for the development of digital product passports (required by the Eco-design for Sustainable Products Regulation or the Construction Product Regulation).
• Manufacturer transparency and commitment regarding products, with a marketing objective towards consumers who are particularly concerned with responsible purchasing.
• Facilitation of regulatory reporting thanks to a standardized language. While gateways are still under study, the PCDS, with its standardized language and format, verified data, and machine-readable format, offers undeniable advantages for facilitating and automating the production of these reports.
• Interoperability with other product-oriented information systems (BIM, PIM, ERP, etc.) through an API, the PCDS in JSON format, and the integrable standardization of its content.
The PCDS is also an auditable document on our platform, allowing for third-party verification of declared information. In a context where greenwashing is becoming an increasing imperative due to consumers' desire to buy responsibly, the PCDS, as a verified data sheet, offers the possibility of restoring greater trust and legitimacy in product information.
